Mikayoo Wireless Camera,Portable Robot Shape 360° Review

Color: Orange

The Mikayoo Wireless Camera arrived in a plain white cardboard box with a picture of the camera on the front of it and app barcodes on the side of it. This box was almost impossible to get open. The top slides down over the bottom and it a pretty thick and sturdy box and I almost couldn’t get the two pieces apart and had to use a knife to pull them apart. The inside top and bottom of the box looked like it has mold growing on it. Look at the pictures, you decide?
In the box was the camera, USB Mini charging cable with a wall adapter, wall mount with screws and plugs, a metal paper clip and the instructions. The instructions are a little choppy and hard to understand but I have a few of these type cameras to start with and they pretty much all set up the same, so no big deal for me.

This couldn’t be much simpler to setup and use. Download and install the app on the Apple store or Google play store. Connect to your network WiFi. Open the app and hit add device. Pick your Wifi and enter your password. Hold the phone next to the camera and it will make a hi pitch chirping noise and set up the camera. Once that is done, the camera should show in the app and you should be able to select it and start using it.

The image on the camera is really good both in the light and in the dark. If you add a memory card (you have to supply) to the camera, you can take pictures and record video. If not you can only view the camera image thru the app on your phone.

If you buy the card and get into the settings, you can do more like set up motion detection video taking and a few other things.

This is a really nice camera and you can pan and tilt the camera by dragging your finger across the screen. The description says the “camera head and body can be separated” but when I looked and pulled on it a little there are wires running between the two, so I don’t think that is possible so don’t pull the head off unless you want a paper weight?

There is also a mic and speaker on this camera if you want or need to listen or talk to someone in the room. Good way to talk to your pets when you are away. Drives my cats crazy when they gear me and can’t find me but I can see them checking the camera out and not know what’s going on.

Overall, very good camera and looks cool also with the robot and colorful clothes on it. Highly recommend this if you need to watch the house, kids, aging adults or pets. Very easy to operate and use on the app.
