The Akinger camera Lens is a big lens for a clip on, portable phone lens. It’s about as big as a lens on one of my actual cameras. Not that that is a bad thing, but you should be aware that this isn’t your typical small clip-on phone lens you see out there everywhere nowadays. This one will actually take a 52mm filter on the front of it is you have one and want to use it. It actually shows a filter in one of the pictures on Amazon, but it's not included with these lenses.
First off, these types of clip-on lens work best for phones with a camera located on the top corner of the phone (like the iPhone) more than ones with the camera lens more in the middle or down further on the phone face (like my Samsung Galaxy 6). The clip just isn’t quite big enough or long enough to reach the lens on my SG6 phone completely but works very well on my wife’s iPhone 6 plus. It does reach my SG 6 camera lens but not in the middle and sometimes the lens is in the way and cuts off the picture if you don’t get it just right on the phone.
This lens is built and comes just like a normal camera lens does with a clip on cap for the front and a screw on cap for the back to protect the front/back lenses from scratching or damage when not in use so the lenses must be removed from the clip, in order to be stored correctly. It does come with a leather pouch bag with a drawstring to store and carry these lens in when not in use.
This lens is a little on the big side and may not fit in your pocket to carry it around with you and may require a purse or bag to put this in to carry it with you. May fit in some loose baggy pants but not any skin tight pants.
The lenses themselves are built very well and are a couple of really nice lenses made from an aluminum alloy. The wide angle lens screws onto the macro lens and then the two screw onto the clip, so you must use them all together at once but you can take the wide angle lens off and just use the macro lens to get extreme close up shots of small things.
When you try and take a normal picture using your phone's camera of your finger prints on your fingers, you end up with a blurry picture and no detail. Using this macro lens (at 12.5 x) you get a close up and detailed picture of your fingerprints with all the ridges and detail. Just remember to keep the lenses at lease an inch away and not get too close when using the macro lens.
The wide angle lens is a 2x lens and does give you a little closer or bigger image, but at the same time since it is wide angle, you get more area in the photo so you can get everything in the picture now instead of having to take multiple pictures to or do a panorama shot to get it all now.
The instructions come in both Chinese and English and cover using these lenses but must be for another lens or older lens as well because it talks about and has pictures of a lens storage container with screw on cap and lanyard to put this lens in but there is actually only the leather pouch bag that this comes with to put this in. Little confusing.
The clip works very well and I have had no problem keeping it on while using these lenses. It also has a padded cushion on the inside so it shouldn’t scratch or damage you phone when placed on it.
Overall, these lenses work very well, take great pictures and enhance your cell phone camera and make it better. Everyone carries their phone everywhere but not an actual camera. Do yourself a favor and get this lens and take your cell phone pictures to the next level.
