The ANEWISH Bluetooth 4.0 USB Dongle Adapter came in retail bubble packaging with the adapter and a mini-CD, with drivers for windows only, for both 32 and 64-bit computers but no instructions anywhere on the CD or packaging. The adapter is in front of the clear plastic with a molded piece in the middle displaying the Wi-Fi adapter. Looks very nice and professional.
The windows drivers on the CD are for all versions of Windows, but most versions of Windows will just find it and install it without the CD. I know if you have Windows 10, its plug and play.
This thing is small, light, compact and about the size of a quarter. This is very portable and will easily fit in your pocket when traveling. It’s just a little too long to leave in your laptop when traveling as it may get bent or broken off.
Based on your computer, the first time this installs and pairs with a device maybe a little on the slow side. Was pretty quick on my nice newer PC, but took a few minutes on my older laptop. I already had Bluetooth on my newer PC but wanted to test this on it also and this just showed up as a Bluetooth device without having to install or set anything up.
Once you have this installed and paired the first time, it connects right away to any device that you paired it with from then on. Like many Bluetooth devices, there is a little lag sometimes and the connectivity does drop or fade the further you get away from this adapter.
So you can’t plug this adapter into your desktop inside your house and try and play a Bluetooth speaker outside on the deck connected to this unless there aren’t many walls in between and you are within about 20 feet. I had no problem transferring files back and forth using this dongle.
I love Bluetooth devices and the elimination of all those wires. If you have a choice, you should buy this and make it Bluetooth instead of hardwired. I know they also make a device that will add Bluetooth to any device that has a 3.5mm jack on it, so you can now make about anything Bluetooth compatible.
Overall, this is a great device that adds Bluetooth capability to any desktop or laptop that didn’t have it before. It is also really small and portable and can be taken or used about anywhere. I would give this 4 stars for not having instruction but it is pretty much plugged and play and the drivers aren’t really needed at all.
