Eachine H8 Mini Quadcopter Drone RTF Mode 2 Review

The Eachine H8 Mini Quadcopter is just a little bigger than your hand (4 inches, so not a big drone or a mini drone but in between) is a RTF (Ready To Fly) drone which you don’t get in a lot of drones that cost a lot more than this. That means it’s ready to fly right out of the box. All you have to do is install the batteries in the controller (that you supply) and turn the controller on and plug the battery in the quadcopter (there is no on/off switch on this quadcopter) and you are good to go fly the first time if you know what you are doing and have flown one before. It passes the RTF test, but remember, you do get a little less flying time the first time until you fully charge the battery.

I really like that this comes with one button return feature. Sometimes these smaller drones get away from you or you can’t tell which ways is forward anymore because they are too far away. This one button can save you a lot and will make this drone return back to you without having to do anything else. Works really well.

This takes about forty-five minutes to charge (that’s great) and feels like I have gotten way more than 5-7 minutes out if in flying time each time. It’s not very long but it’s fun while you’re doing it. I have taken this outside with no problems but keep it close, it does get hard to see (It’s black in color) from a distance and would be real easy to lose if it crashed when out of site. I find it’s actually easier to watch the colors on the bottom to see which way is forward than trying to see which way the drone is pointing. Red it forward and blue is backward. The battery is also in the back.

I think this is a nice mini quadcopter that everyone would enjoy having. This does come with some extra blades, 2 not 4, for some reason, but I haven’t needed them yet. So far, so good. I have crashed this plenty of times and nothing has broken and it’s still working. This thing is a lot of fun for the size of this little thing. Both the adults as well as the kids love flying this thing.

On a side note, this doesn’t come with a camera and is only a drone but that is a good thing and makes this a perfect first drone for anyone that wants to try one out. A camera would easily make the price of this four times what it is and only make it last half as long flying it if you used the camera. That and if this is your first drone, you need to learn to fly it before adding a camera into the mix and having one more thing to worry about.

The charger you receive with this isn’t the one you see on in the pictures, the one I received is more like a flash drive you plug the battery into and then plug that into your computer or some USB port to charge it. Would work in your car, PC, wall outlet or anything you have. There is no wire on this charger. This also comes with a small screwdriver used for installing the batteries in the remote control.

Just remember, these controls are very touchy and you don’t have to move them very mush to move this thing in any direction, so think small movements. Just FYI, to sync the remote controller to the quadcopter before you can fly it. Turn both of them on, then move the left joystick up and then down. The lights on the quadcopter should go from flashing to solid and you should hear a beep. That means you are synced and ready to fly. When you see the lights start to flash when you are flying it, the battery is about dead, so bring it back and go charge the battery for next time.
