The Elephone Explorer Sport Action Camera is awesome and looking at the speacs is just as good at the GoPro but almost 6x less in cost and this comes with all the extras that the GoPro doesn’t come with. There is no reason to buy a GoPro anymore. The quality of this camera and accessories are top notch and just as good.
I have always wanted an action camera like this, but could never afford one until these lesser known brands came out. I now have my go to camera for everything I do. I might as well sell my DLSR camera and lenses now. I actually already had a chest belt that this will fit on that I have been using my cell phone to get pictures and video and that is no comparison to the video and pictures this camera can take in 4k and 16MP 1080p HD and has a 2 inch LCD viewing screen to boot.
The only thing missing on this is the memory card and I am surprised they didn’t include that, but I guess that would raise the cost another $20. I picked up the biggest card this would hold at 64 GB for $18, so no big deal. The only thing I can think of that would make this better, would be if it came with two or more batteries and a battery charger.
The manual is in English, easy to read and follow and covers all aspects of using the camera, buttons, menus and even gives you 14 combination picture examples of how to piece some of the mounts together and their possible uses. Great 14 examples
I still can’t believe it came with all these accessories and the waterproof case for the price of this. You have about every mount you could need unless you need something special or unique. I do wish it had the floating handle mount, but you can get one for 5-10 bucks. It also comes with a rechargeable battery and the mini cable to charge it with and if that wasn’t enough, it even comes with a backup back plate for the waterproof case if needed. Next, I will have to get a stabilizer arm that I have seen around now so I can use this to walk around parties that I go to and not get all that shake from carrying it around.
This thing is waterproof up to 98 feet, not that I will be going nowhere near that depth, but it’s nice to know if you need it, and I should have no problems for where I go. The WiFi remote control is also awesome and a great feature for using this camera once you download the app and install it on your phone or tablet. I can actually be in the action instead of the one just taking the pictures and video now.
The app itself is a little slow and buggy sometimes and could use a little work and maybe the one weak point of this camera experience but defiantly not a show stopper with everything else this camera has going for it.
I love the slow motion feature on this as well. Seeing the expression on people’s faces or action shots in slow motion is great and I get a kick out of it every time. That and it adds a great dramatic affect to any action video and makes those scenes really standout.
This has also now replaced my cheap dash cam for my daily commute back forth to work or while the wife and I are out on the weekends. There are a lot of idiots out there nowadays on the roads and best to have a video in case something ever would happen.
I can’t say much more about this Elephone camera, except if you are wanting or needed a waterproof action camera, this one works very well and for the price is a steal. Two thumbs up on this one.
