ScharkSpark Drone for Beginners, Portable RC Mini Quadcopter with Foldable Arms Indoor/Outdoor Play, 6-Axis Gyro One-Key Return/Headless Mode/Altitude Hold/3D Flips, Warrior II, FQ32 Drone

What can I say? It’s the size of your palm folded and double that size unfolded. It has all the features of the bigger drones with flips, altitude hold, one key takeoff/land, headless mode, 3-speed modes, and foldable arms.

Comes with one 3.7v 600 mAh 25C 2.22wh Lipo battery that takes about an hour to charge and you get about 8-10 minutes of flight time out of. The transmitter does require 3 AAA batteries that are not included. You can buy extra batteries if you look for ASIN: B07HKH2P9K on Amazon. This is a proprietary battery but is nice because it has a micro USB plug that is used to charge it and everyone has one of those and a wall charger to use with it.

This is a smooth flying drone that isn’t real fast even in the highest speeds that you can keep it under control when indoors but fast enough to have fun and enjoy when outdoors. They state the range at 263 for the transmitter, but once you start to get more than 150 feet, it starts to get hard to see, to begin with, so 263 would really be pushing it, but you could go that far if you wanted to.

All the features work as expected and perform well when used. I did read other reviews about the USB port failing on the battery, but I haven’t seen or had any problem like that since using this.

I love the small portable aspect of this drone once folded down to just a little over 4 inches. Fits in your pocket if needed while traveling.

Syma S39 RC Helicopter with GYRO Toy 2.4G 3Channel, Red Review

I have the S39 from when it first came out (about a two ago) and now I have this one, thinking it may have changed and been upgraded, but only the packaging and transmitter has been changed and this one comes with 2 batteries and a couple of extra parts in the box.

Still requires 4 AA batteries for the transmitter that you must supply. Still has a 300 mAh 3.7v battery that takes about 70 minutes to charge and you get about 5 maybe 6 minutes of flight time out of. Good thing, now they give you an extra battery, so you get about 10-12 minutes of flight time now before having to recharge the batteries, but you can only charge one battery at a time unless you have a balance charger (which everyone should get).

The controller has changed and actually has gotten smaller and with fewer options on it, as the old one had a LED screen on it that used to show some data on it and now it doesn’t.

Flying a helicopter is a little different than flying a drone and does have a little learning curve to it but doesn’t take that long to figure out and with the gyroscopes on this, it is pretty easy to fly once you get the trim set and working right and get it flying straight to start with. Took the first couple of minutes to get that right and then all good and fun after that.

This is mainly for indoor flying, but with little to no little wind, can be flown outdoors if you want. It will struggle against wind and will get pushed around, so be careful and fly in an open area.

Overall, a nice helicopter that flies much better than the old helicopters when they first came out.
This has become one of my favorites now and I really like flying it. I have drones and some of their batteries work in this, so I get plenty of flight time now.

Bratsk Drill Bit Set Durability Premium Twist General Purpose Titanium Pilot Point High Torque Drill Bit Sets for Drilling Metal, Masonry, Wood and Plastics (69 Piece)

Over the years I have broken or lost all most all my drill bits. Drilling out a couple of license plate screws was the last straw when I broke 4 of my smaller drill bits. I had no choice but to seek out and buy new ones.

I was looking for a variety of drill bits since as a home owner you never know what you will need to work on next and this 69 piece drill bit set from Bratsk fits the bill.

This thing has a little of everything and sizes from very tiny to ¾ inch wood spade bit. They all seem to be built very well (as well as anything else I have had in the past).

All the drill bits come in its own carrying/storage case. If there was a downside, the case would be it. It works and holds the bits, but they are all just thrown in there with no organization so you do have to kind of dump these out to find what you need when you use them. Not a deal breaker at all since I can place these in other drill bit cases I already have and leave some of these in this case. Some of the drill bits did come out of the case during shipping as the latch that closes it came undone and the lid was partially open.

For the price, quality and what you get, well worth it.

CREATIVE DESIGN Solar Lights Review

Every year I try to put up some lights for Christmas or for some party we are having. I am getting a little older and dragging extension cords around to power these are getting to be more than I want any more and then I found these solar powered lights from Creative design and life is so much easier now.

Place these in the ground or on a wall, tree or anything else you want, turn them on and they just come on and off automatically with sunset/sunrise.

Both the solar panel and the spotlight can be adjusted, so they pretty much work anywhere you want or need them and being IP65, they are waterproof, so no worries there.

The 2200 mAh battery in these seems to charge pretty well over a sunny day and ok in a partly cloudy day. How long these last is really based on if you use the low or high light mode by pressing the mode button on these. In low light mode, I have had no problems with these lasting all night long, but if you really want these to stand out and be at their brightest, use the high light mode. They don’t last as long, but who is up at 3-4am to see them anyway?

Aluminum Alloy Anti-Scratch & Anti-Slippery Stand for Smartphone/iPad/Apple Watch by Humixx

I just got the wife the Apple watch 4 for Christmas and needed something for her to store and charge both her watch and iPhone 7 Plus with and this stand from Humixx fits the bill. It’s not too big and works well sitting next to her side of the bed on her nightstand. The angle on it is just enough that she can see the phone if needed when she rolls over in bed.

I like the aluminum build and look and for the price, it does what I bought it for. It’s very well made, looks and feel awesome and should last a while.

This was very easily put together and use and the pads that hold the phone and watch, feel on the sticky side and hold them very well but not to the point that other stuff will stick and hold on to it too much. Haven’t seen any cat hair on them so far. You do have to push the phone onto the pad to make it stick and stay. That is a problem sometimes with her battery case on the phone as it sometimes seems too heavy and falls off if you don’t get it stuck on good enough.

Overall, a very nice stand that I feel is worth what I paid for and does what it was made for.

TOTU 11-in-1 Type C Hub Adapter

I have the Thunderbolt 3 docking station I use with my laptop but had a mix of hubs on my desktop trying to fill gaps I had until I found this 11 in 1 hub from TOTU.

This thing has everything I need in one hub that looks and feels very well built and should last for a while. Some of the other hubs, the USB ports keep breaking after plugging stuff in and out all the time.

All the ports on this do as you would expect and are as fast and reliable as what they are made for. I don’t have 4k, so that wasn’t tested, but I have no reason to believe that doesn’t work just as well as everything else.

I love that this is pretty small and portable and comes with a carrying case that I can take this with me when I travel for work if I need to as well. Much smaller and lighter than my Thunderbolt 3 hub and also less than a quarter the price.
I wouldn’t compare this to the Thunderbolt 3 hub, but it does have a lot of the same features and ports as that does and function a lot like it.

I do wish the USB ports were also made for high speed charging as well instead of being more for data. I have allot of things that I need to charge using USB and this could have really helped. They do charge at .5A, so overnight charging is ok and works but I have to find another way for stuff I need to be charged right away. Add that to, this hub doesn’t like iPads or external hard drives plugged into it as well as it doesn’t like high powered devices.

Overall, a very nice hub that makes doing stuff on my desktop much faster, easier, and a great addition to my tech arsenal.

Flytec T18 Mini Drone Racing Drone Quadcopter Sold by Manzoku

This mini racing drone from Manzoku is almost too fast to fly indoors unless you have some space. It’s a great little fly but fast in the highest speed mode.

This little drone has all the specs of the bigger toy grade drones, they pretty much all do now at this point, with headless mode, one key return, flips, 3 speed modes, HD camera, 1 button takeoff/land, 6 gyros, LED lights that can be turned off/on and a 450 mAh Li-Po battery that will get you about 8 minutes of flight time after charging it for about 1 hour.

This can be flown with the controller (needs 4 AA batteries, not included) or by downloading and using the app called “Flytec” from the app store on your device. The app also gives you a first-person view (FPV) of what the camera sees on the drone while you are flying it and you can adjust the camera lens manually up or down to get a better view while flying it. Too much down and you see the ground most of the time since the pitch on this in the higher speeds is pretty much and points the nose of the drone to the ground. This also causes the drone to want to dive and fly into the ground if you aren’t careful. That is actually a good thing in my opinion.

I tested all the different features while flying it and everything works pretty well and the photos and video are saved on my phone and are all there and good shape and actually look pretty good for a 720p camera.

ToyPark Mini Quadcopter, H345 Mini Dual-Aircraft Combination Micro Foldable RC Drone Quadcopter with 2 Set JJRCI White & JJRCII Black

These dual JJRC mini-drones from Toypark are awesome and work great for the winter time when I can’t get out and fly by bigger drones. Both these will fit in on hand they are so small but looks and fly great.

They have all the key features all the big drones have with the headless mode, return to home (remembers where it took off from), one key take off, one key landing, and flips. The arms fold in and out and had LED lights on the front (white) and back (red).

This comes with 2 drones and 1 controller so you can fly one drone at a time or both at the same time if you wish using the same controller. Never did that before, but it is fun and a little more of a challenge if you need one.

Overall a great pair of drones that are just fun to fly. My cats aren’t that crazy about them, but I do enjoy watching them try and knock them out of the sky.
