Totoao HD 1080P Spy Camera Review

The Totoao HD 1080P Spy Camera is a small wonder. It’s amazing how small everything is getting in both size and price. This is one of those, big things come in small packages, moments.

This tiny camera has full HD 1920x1080P or 1208x720P video with infrared for night vision, a microphone, and a rechargeable battery that can record up to 100 minutes on a 32 GB micro card (TF card). You can go smaller on the card, but 32 GB is the biggest you can use in this. This also comes with a wall mounting bracket, multi-use cable, and instructions.

The instructions are in choppy and broken English and not easy to read or follow and I think covers all the buttons and operations of this camera. Reading this is pretty hard and it’s been a lot of trial and error on getting this to work and what to do to make it work under the different modes. Since everything is based on the color of the LED light and how many times it flashes or what color it stays in, this is a little hard to comprehend what mode you are in and if it’s even recording or not.

It’s only got two buttons. One for the mode and the other for on/off. Other than that, there is the TF card slot and mini-b USB plug port.

You can also set this up to record when it sees motion and also to loop the video if needed and write over any previous video if you wish, that way it doesn’t stop when the card is full.

There are a couple of things about this camera, One, is make sure you put the TF card in right and not to force it as it may go in wrong and you can’t get it back out. Secondly, this runs pretty hot when charging or sometimes when being used, so just be aware of that and don’t let it overcharge or use it to record when charging for too long. The LED light on it is red when charging (about 2-3 hours) and flashes red/blue when about done and they do recommend you charge this an extra 30 minutes at this point to make sure it is at its fullest charge.

This small camera really does take some pretty good and amazing video. Whether you use this hidden or not, it’s a really nice camera and works well. I may start using it to do these reviews and start making video reviews now. I just wish the instructions were better and helpful. Taking one star off for that.

Tip: The TF card must slide in towards the front of the camera with the card connectors facing forward since the slot is towards the front of the camera. If you get it in the middle or back and miss the slot, the card will go in even further and you can't get it back out with your fingers. If this happens, there is a screw on the top of the camera that you can remove (with a really small Philips screwdriver) and the camera splits in half and you can get the card back out. Just watch the wire that goes between the two halves and don't rip it off.
