The SmartDude Wireless Doorbell SD003 Waterdrop Wireless Plug arrived in a plain white box with the specs on the side. In the box are the transmitter, receiver, instructions in English, a battery, small Philips screwdriver, screws and 3M two sided tape.
This took less time to put together and install than it did to remove my old one. Pop the back off to the transmitter, install the supplied battery if needed, put the back on, apply the tape to the back of it and stick to the wall where you want the doorbell button outside or use the screws and screw to the wall. This should be about chest high and preferably not on or around metal (like on the metal door if you have one).
Once you do that, you plug the receiver into the wall, adjust the volume (push button on the left side up or down, it will go up and back down the more you push it and you will hear the difference), choose the ringer type (there are 36) by pushing the button on the right side (it will play each ringer type each time you push the button). When you find the ringer you like, push the button on the transmitter (doorbell button) to sync the two and tell it to use that ringer and you are good to go. Don’t forget the last part or you will not actually change the ringer and will stay on the one that is set up.
You should go thru all the ringer types. There are some basic single ring types, animal types and some that are long and part of a song. The blue teardrop on the front is a LED light as well and will flash when the ringer is playing. Great for the hearing impaired like my nephew.
The volume is really loud on max. I have a small two story (1800 SQFT) and this works well. I wish it came with at least two transmitters (one for the front and one for the back) I assume you can purchase more if needed? For some reason (maybe price) most that I have looked at and researched, only have one transmitter.
Overall, this is a nice wireless doorbell and would be great for a new doorbell or a great replacement for your old one if needed. For the price, ease of installation and how well this works, it’s worth it.
