I was told to stay away from an all manual lens from a fellow
photographer when I first started out and that was good advice then since I did
a lot of moving wildlife photos, but now that I have some time under my belt,
know what I want and need and I want a longer range lens without paying the crazy
price for one like my 600mm lens, this is a perfect fit for both distance and
price.
On my Nikon camera, all it took was setting it to "manual", set
the ISO and shutter speed and everything works as expected. This lens has a
nice metal barrel, crisp and clear optical lens and slides in and out to change
your distance smoothly and locks in place when you get it where you need it.
I did need the adapter to make this fit my Nikon and it did come
with it and fit perfect. It does take a little practice to get this focused in
but not too hard and does work a little better with a tripod since it can get a
little long and heavy hand holding it, but I did get some good pictures with it
being handheld.
I also use a shutter release remote that plugs into the side of
the camera to take photos, so I don’t disturb the camera when taking pictures.
Everyone should get one.
Hoping to get some great pictures with this next time I visit
the Eagles Nest.
