The Wolf Moon® Handheld 20x Magnifying Glass Review

The Wolf Moon® Handheld 20x Magnifying Glass is awesome. I have two smaller magnifying glasses with no lights and bigger one with an LED light but it’s only a 2x and 5x magnification and the wife and I have been struggling trying to read the coins that we buy or find and trying to see if it is a D or P on them so we know where it was made.

I can’t believe how small those are on the coins. I know I am getting older and my sight is getting worst, but I don’t has contacts or glasses and it’s still hard to read.

Now with this 20x magnification and the 12 LED lights, not only can I see the letters now, but the wife can to and she can barely see without her contact or glasses on.

This runs on 2 AA batteries, that you must supply, and if this had a downside that would be it. I use low discharging rechargeable batteries in things like this and they last for months before needing to be recharged.

I did find another great use for this as well. I finally decided I was going to fix the cross hairs in my target rifle scope but the company wanted $175 to do it, so I decided to try and do it myself. I found some .0005 tungsten wire online (you can’t even see that with the naked eye) and once received it, sat down to fix my scope. I tried the bigger magnifier since it sat on the table and requires no hands, bit even with the 5x magnification, I could only see the wire when the light shimmered and reflected off of it. So a lot of guessing that way.

I ended up rigging Wolf Moon magnifying glass and attaching it to the other magnifier so I could use the 20x glass instead and I was not only able to see the wire, but to complete my task and fix my scope for the cost of the wire at $5. This more than paid for the cost of this magnifying glass.

This lens and handle is pretty big and heavy and has a very thick and well-built glass lens on it. The handle is plastic and has an on/off switch for the LED lights on it. This could be another downside to this. This maybe a little too heavy for holding over a long period of time reading or working on something. That and you do have to hold this. I wish it also came with a base or clip to put this on to hold it when needed.

I read a lot of reviews that said this isn’t an x20 magnification and either they fixed that or people weren’t using this right and pulling it away from what they were trying to look at. If this was 5x like people are saying, I would have seen that tungsten wire the same as my other magnifier did and that didn’t happen.
