Freehawk® Firestarter Para cord Keychain Review

The Freehawk® Firestarter Paracord keychain is a first for me. I won’t call myself a survivalist, but I do tend to sway that way find myself purchasing things that are geared towards that like this keychain. It’s not that I really needed a new keychain, but I liked the way this looked, hooked on your belt loop and that it comes with a Firestarter. What’s not to like?

The quick adjustment thumb loop and key ring are made from a fine looking black military grade metal that clips in place and won’t just fall off your belt loop when you aren’t looking. The black braided 4.9 feet of Para cord, not only looks nice and neat on this but will come in handy and be very helpful down the road if ever needed and you already know the Firestarter, could be a life saver in the right situations.

The overall look of this key chain is military matte black and I like it. Very manly, rugged and minimalist looking and just works. At less than 5 inches in length, this isn’t too big to get in the way and is very easy to carry around with you at all times.

There is one thing with this. The clip for the belt loop is a little on the small side and depending on your pants and the size and design of you belt loop, you may have some problem getting this on and off. If they made this clip just a little bigger and wider is would be so much better, but it does work as is and clips onto other stuff like a backpack without any problems.

I actually used this to clip my solar panel for my cell phone charger onto my golf bag with this while it was on the back of my golf cart while I was playing the other day. The charger has holes to hang it by but no clip or way to hang it, so I clipped it on using this keychain and it worked very well and my phone got charged while I was playing golf. Got to love this new technology.

Overall, this is a very nice survivalist keychain that will do a lot more than just hold your keys if and when needed.
