X-Sense Wi-Fi Smoke Detector (XZ01-WT)

 

This was just another step of automating my 100-year-old house. This is smaller than normal smoke detectors, so it is a little less noticeable on the ceiling. It was just as easy to install as any other detector with just two screws holding it in place. Just remember to remove the plastic piece inside to let the batter make contact and work before installing it.

 I already have and use the Smart Life app for most of my other devices on my Android Galaxy S19 5G, so adding and setting this up was no big deal and only took a couple of minutes. Once you have it connected to the app, you can control and change everything you need without having to get a stool or ladder out to reach it again. The test button on the side works well, sends a notifier to your phone, and the alarm sound is loud (like a lawnmower, window air conditioner) and annoying as all the other detectors I have.    

 On android, you can add exceptions to “Do Not Disturb” if you have it turned on, just make sure you have your volume up loud enough on your phone that you will hear it.
