My last circular saw got stolen out of my garage, so after some
research and reading the good reviews, bought this one from Meterk. The one bad
review, I think he either didn’t have the plate tight or doesn’t understand it
is movable, so you can adjust the angle of your cut. I have had no problem with
the plate being lose.
This is pretty easy to put together and set up before using it
and I love that it comes with 2 blades. One has 24 teeth for ripping thru wood
and a 40 teeth blade for a finer finish cut needed on plywood or tubing. Not
too hard to swap the two out at all with the hex wrench they include for the
bolt that holds the blade in place. They also throw in a metal parallel guide
for you if the laser guide isn’t enough for you to keep your cut straight (I
would use it).
For the price, this actually has a lot of options built into it.
With adjustable cutting depth, adjustable cutting angles, double safety switch,
and dust outlet (you can hook a vacuum hose to it if needed). They pretty have
it all covered. The power cord on this is about 6 feet long and seems pretty
well built.
Now for the use and cutting. I used this to cut 4x4 fence posts
off the concrete base so I can throw the concrete away and with the 1800w (4700rpm)
power of this saw and the 24 teeth blade, had no problem doing it. I had to
make four cuts (one on each side) because the depth isn’t deep enough for that,
but it sure beats doing it by hand. I also cut a couple of 2x4’s to replace a
bad board on my deck and worked just as well on that.
Overall, I like the look, feel, and cut of this saw. My only
complaint would be this doesn’t come with a case or bag to store all this when
not in use or if I need to transport it someplace else. Not a deal breaker,
just a would be nice to have.
