This is a nice bird feeder. It is well built with a steel hanging cable that the squirrels can’t chew threw. I really like this idea on how they squirrel proofed it and it works. The squirrels own weight causes the outside cage to slide down and blocks the feeder ports on it. It holds about 2 pounds of bird feed which does last a little while before having to refill it and filling it is fast and easy.
I do have a
lot of squirrels in my yard, including 6 albino ones, and this is the first
feeder that stops them from getting the bird food, not that they don’t keep
trying. It is fun watching them keep trying, smart little guys.
Only time
will tell how long the spring that holds the outside cage up will last, but so
far, seems to be holding very well. Looks to be a thick wired spring and
doesn’t get pulled to far down, so should last a long time, I hope?
This feeder
is made for smaller birds as the feeding ports are on the smaller side and made
for the smaller seed mix that smaller birds would eat.
