i-Kawachi(TM) Motion Activated Toilet Night Light Review

The i-Kawachi(TM) motion activated toilet night light is a wonderful thing to have when you have to get up in the middle of the night and use the restroom or just want to get a drink of water. This light is pretty sensitive to motion and comes on as soon as you walk in the room. So no problem there.

Since I remodeled my restroom, all I have is the overhead can lights and they are really bright. Always hated to turn those on when I am still half asleep and I don’t want to be woken up any more than I already am, since I need to go back to sleep, but it’s a hassle and hard to find that dimmer switch on the light switch when you need it, but I also can’t leave the light off because there are no windows in that room so it is really dark and you can’t see a thing and that is where this toilet light comes in.

This thing comes on and lights up not only the toilet but the room a little as well and is just what you need to see what you are doing and not blind you why doing it.

Love how it rotates through all eight colors and changes every time it comes on. It also saves the battery and turns itself off when there is no more motion.

The button on the front of it will let you pick one color to use if you decide you like one color over the rest of them and just want to use that one color all the time. I can see that. The green has a pretty awesome look in the dark and seems to light up the room a little more than the others I think, but still have mine rotating through all eight colors.

The arm that you bend over the edge of the toilet to hang it on is a little tough to get bent and to keep the shape you want or need for your toilet for it to hang correctly. It seems to want to spring back to its original shape and position, but if you play with it enough, it will go where you need it to.

I think overall, I really like this light and if I had more toilets in my house, I would buy more of these, but I only have the one. I think these would make a great gift for everyone

FRK Digital Body Weight Bathroom Scale Review

To begin with, the FRK Digital Body Weight Bathroom Scale looks and feel awesome when you first take this out of the box. You can feel how heavy this is when you first pick up the box after it is delivered. It’s all tempered glass surface has a look and feels like a heavy, nice, well-built black scale.

At eleven inches square, it is just the right size for any bathroom or kitchen next to the refrigerator for those trying to lose weight. The black goes great with my black and stainless steel kitchen.

What I like about this scale is the step-on activation. You just step on and in a couple of seconds it gives you a weight. My previous scale you had to touch it or slightly step on it to turn it on and calibrate it to zero and then you could step on it to get your weight. Confuses anyone trying to use it that doesn’t know that.

This scale had a nice big and easy to read LED screen (about 3x3 inches) that displays your weight on. No squinting or bending over to try and read the weight anymore. The weight reading is almost exactly the same as my old scale, so I would assume it is accurate or at least as accurate as my last scale.

It also tracks and remembers up to ten peoples weights and gives you a comparison (up or down) to your last weight so you know if you lose or gained weights since your last weighing. Just remember, your body weight fluctuates between 5-6 pounds a day, so you shouldn’t weigh yourself multiple times a day or even every day.

It has no problem remember when I am on the scale or the wife is and I have a love/hate relationship with that comparing weight that it gives you. Love it when it gown down and hate it when it goes up.

The only thing I see, and I won’t say it’s a problem, but with this being glass and being black, your finger and feet prints stand out and smudge this pretty good and needs to be cleaned most of the time after using it.

Overall, great glass scale that does what it was made for at a reasonable price.

Taochis Car HID Xenon Bulbs Conversion Headlights H7 Review

The Taochis Car H7 HID Xenon Bulbs Conversion Headlights are a great HID replacement bulbs for my old OEM Halogen bulbs. These on sale, are actually about half the price of the old bulbs, except you do have to buy the ballasts to go with these to use them if you don’t already have them installed on your vehicle. Since I don’t, I had to order some and found a 55-watt pair for about $18, so not too bad. These bulbs are compatible with both the 35 and 55-watt ballast, so thought I should get the bigger ones just in case and for future need if I decide to change to something else later.

These come with instructions in English and are pretty simple to understand and follow and if you have problems, look it up on YouTube. I found everything I needed there before I bought these just in case and because I wanted to know how much work these would be and if I could do it myself or not. Turns out to be real easy, that anyone should be able to do it, on most cars. Some may need to be done by a professional, but most will not.

Everything on these bulbs and wiring seems to be a pretty top notch and everything plugged in and fit together as instructed. I do recommend you tie or tape all the wires up and to some other wiring or hose to keep them secure and in place and to also use electrical tape and tape off where these plug into your headlight connectors on your car to keep them closed off and stop water, moisture and dust from causing a problem down the road. Also, make sure your ballast are secure and strapped, screwed or taped to your vehicle so they don’t come loose or fall off during your driving of the vehicle.

I love the light blue compared to the old yellow light the old bulbs used to put out. Looks really cool with the blue LED lights I put on the inside of my car. Now I realize I am going to have to replace the fog lights (H8) next since I normally run those anytime I have my headlights on. For now, I will just turn them off since I can see much better now with these new lights.

I have read the reviews on these and a few people claimed they burnt out in two months or so or have blown their ballast. So far, so good for me. It’s only been a week and a half so time will tell and I will update this review if anything changes. In the meantime, these are a great replacement headlight bulb for anyone thinking about moving to HID lights. Was pretty simple to install and well worth the time, effort and money to do it.

MINGLI Digital Tire Pressure Gauge Review

The MINGLI Digital Tire Pressure Gauge is just what I needed for my wife’s car. This thing has just about everything you could need in case of an emergency with the tire gauge, LED flashlight, seat belt cutter, glass hammer and LED light. I have all of these, but they are all separate devices in my car and not all in one like this one. Put this on the driver’s side door panel and it will always be within reach at any given time if needed.

I have my father’s old tire pressure gauge with a metal stick that gets pushed out with the air pressure. Really old and doesn’t work very well. Even the newer ones with a plastic stick (gauge) aren’t very accurate and you must take a reading a few times to be sure what it might be.

Not anymore with this gauge. With a digital reading, I get air pressure down to the tenth of a pound. No more guessing or getting it close. I know exactly where each tire is now. Taking this out of the package, it first feels really light and plastic and the seam in the middle of the two halves has a little gap by the light on/off switch that I can see the LED light through the crack when it’s turned on. We will see how long this lasts.

I also love that the screen is backlit so you can read it very quickly at night or during the day. Never fails I get a low tire warning light when I am leaving somewhere late at night in the winter time. Don’t want to be out in the cold and snow anymore than you have to be. There is also a red LED light on the front of this by the gauge itself so it’s pointing at the valve as you are taking the air pressure. This light comes if you slide the on/off switch on the back of the gauge. Again, very convenient feature and will come in handy when needed.

This gauge can display the reading in multiple units of measure. I use PSI (pounds per square inch), but there is also BAR, KPA and Kg/cm2 if needed or desired. To change the units that it displays, just press the power button until your desired unit shows. After that, the pressure gauge will remember your choice unless you press the button again and change it.

This is also powered by two AAA batteries that are not included and you must supply. The gauge will not shut down automatically if not used (bad design here I think) and you must turn it off manually after each use by holding the on/off button for 3 seconds until it goes off.

To take a reading, you just turn it on (press the on/off button for 2 seconds), set the units to display (if needed) and then hold the gauge on the valve stem tight enough you don’t hear air leaking (hissing) for at least two seconds and then pull it off and read the display. It does take a little bit of pressure to get a good enough seal to take a good reading but it’s not too hard and most people shouldn’t have a problem doing it.

I did test the flashlight and it very bright and works very well. The same on/off switch for the red LED light is the same one used for the flashlight. I did not test the belt cutter or the glass hammer and hope they are never needed but looking at them and feeling them, I think they will do the job if ever the need.

Overall, this is a great 5 in 1 air pressure gauge and I like it. Everyone should move to a digital gauge. This one is great and works well.

SunRise RH - H400 Full HD 1080P Mini Car Camera Review

SunRise RH - H400 Full HD 1080P Mini Car Camera comes in a light blueish green box with the Dashcam, power cord, Mini USB cable, window mount and user manual.

The manual is in English and covers most of the buttons and features of this dash cam. They are very easy to read and follow. You will have to play with this a little to get working correctly as not all functions are explained on how to set up or hot to turn them on or off. It’s not very hard to go thru the menu and find stuff and turn it on and off. Even with that, this also took me less than 15 minutes to set this up and get the recording, if you choose to. You could use this right out of the box, put an SD memory card in it and away you go.

The dash cam itself is very small and light weight at about 2.5 inches long by 2.7 high and maybe an inch thick. Looks so much bigger on the website hanging on people’s windows, but for such a little device has a lot of features with the full 1080 HD with 170-degree viewing angle, emergency recording mode, auto recording with motion in front and night vision. This little thing has it all.

With a 2.5 LCD screen and big buttons, this dash cam is easy to see and operate both in and out of the car. You must supply an SD card for recording, but they are pretty cheap nowadays and this will support up to a 32GB card. I just bought a 32 GB card off Amazon for $12.00. Before I bought this, I was using an 8 GB card and I have had the camera tell me the card if full about every ten minutes and I just hit the record button and it starts to record again. I looked at the card later and it’s not even close to being full, so not sure what is up with that. Once I got the bigger card, I have not seen this message again.

The video and audio on this are really good for such a small and cheap dash cam. You may not be able to see or read all the license plates in front of you unless you are stopped and within maybe 15 feet of them but everything else looks pretty amazing and there is also the date and time stamp on the video as well so you know when it was taken if needed if you want it. You do have to turn this option on in the menu first to have it and also set the date and time to start with.

The suction cup on this is pretty good and has a lever you push down on to help create more suction, but you do have to get it on right and good before it stays all the time. I have had this fall off a few times when I just throw it on there, but if you take your time and get it nice and tight, it has stayed and not fallen off again.

This is my second dash cam and I like this one. There may be better ones out there, but this does what I need and for the price, is an excellent starter dash cam for anyone wanting one.

EC Technology 21W 2 Ports Portable Solar Charger Review

The EC Technology solar charger is awesome. I have plenty of other power bank chargers and they have their place when needed, but this thing is my new favorite toy to play with for now. Comes with the solar charger, micro USB cable, and instruction. The instructions are in English, easy to read and follow and cover all aspects of using this.

I love that it folds, it’s compact and easy to use. At 10x7 inches folded up, this is about the size of a tablet and fits in everything and is very portable and at half a pound in weight, it is easy to carry. Also has a bungee loops on it if you need to attach it to backpack and use it while you are hiking or walking somewhere. There are two holes on each end of this for that that have a metal edge grommet on each. Should be very safe and secure when used.  

It doesn’t have the fast charging feature, but it does charge almost as fast as a normal wall plug charger if this is in very good direct sunlight. Not so good if overcast but still charges and can’t be used at all if there is no sunlight, so that is a downfall but to be expected. My phone kept beeping that it is charging and then not charging when this charger goes in and out of the sun all the time. That part is a little annoying.

With all these storms we are having lately, this will be nice to have during the day if the power happens to go out at home. Not that this is waterproof, it isn’t with the USB ports being exposed under the cover on the one end.

We have been going to the beach on vacations or Keeneland to watch the horse races and sitting out in the sun with a radio playing all day long takes its toll on the batteries. I have been taking my power banks with me, but this will be so much easier and better now and I can even use this to charge my power bank so I have that to use when there is no sun and at night.

I just played 36 holes of golf and it was sunny all day and I tried to use this hanging it off the back of my golf bag and it works and charges when the back of the cart is in the sunlight but doesn’t when it’s shaded, so again, the phone keeps beeping that is I charging/not charging. I think this happened so much while I was playing, the phone didn’t really charge, but it also didn’t use any battery so it just stayed where it was power wise. Guess this is ok, since I still had battery left when I finished playing. Have to figure a way to get this on top of the golf cart next. Maybe a bungee cord using the built-in bungee loops?

Overall, for a solar charger (my first), I really am impressed and like this one. So, for anyone that is outside all the time and needs to charge something while they are doing it, this is an excellent choice and should be seriously looked at and considered.

EC Technology Infrared Thermometer Non-contact Laser Infrared Digital Thermometer Review

The EC Technology infrared thermometer comes in a plain brown box with a set of instructions and two AAA batteries (nice they are included).

The manual is in English and covers all of the buttons and features of this thermometer. They are very easy to read and follow. First, you need to put the batteries in this by opening up the front of the handle. Then pull the trigger and this takes a reading and displays it on the LCD screen. The reading on the LCD screen is big, bright and easy to see and read.

There are buttons on the front of this for changing the settings on this and are big, fast and easy to use. The temperature reading seems to be pretty accurate and within specs and the unit will auto shut off when not used to save battery. You can turn the laser on/off, same with the backlight. You can also change it from Celsius to Fahrenheit, get the min, max and average as well. You can also adjust the emissivity of the gun to get a better reading based on what material you are trying to get a temperature of. Something you should pay attention to if you want more accurate temperature readings.

The whole thing is made from a hard plastic which does seem to give you that “cheap” made feeling. Would have liked to have seen at least part of the handle to have a rubberized grip to make holding it a little better, but it works as is and does what it was purchased for. The whole thing is very lightweight, easily fits in your hand and use at about 7 inches tall by 4 inches wide at the top.

I wasn’t sure why I was buying this at the time I purchased it, besides I just had to have one of the newest toys out there, but now that I have it, things just keep popping up that I find a use for this thing. This doesn’t work so well for the grill/oven and checking the internal meat temperature since it just reads the outside of the meat, but on the air vents for checking the air temperature of the house, checking for leaky/drafty windows and doors or the water temperature when you are pitching yeast to make a homebrew beer, this works great. Makes for a great laser light to play with the pets as well if needed. 

I think this is a great tool and for the price of these now, should be in everyone’s drawer or toolbox for everyday use, where ever you are.

Tips on use:

- Be safe, it is a laser pointer after all. Don’t point at anyone’s eyes.

- Be close to target–the farther away you are, the less accurate it is.

- Measure a few spots–there might be some hot and cold areas, especially on food or when used on windows and doors.

- Don’t use it for body temperature and checking if you are running a fever–there are more accurate devices like the in-ear thermometers that use the same technology
