I
really like these automated pet feeders. I have 11 cats and the more help I can
get, the better. This is so easy to set up and operate, you should be up and
running in less than 10 minutes and that’s swapping out the food dispenser piece
inside it if you are using smaller food, say for cats or a small dog. The
bigger food dispenser is installed when you receive it. There are only a few
screws on the bottom of the container and one inside to swap that out if needed. If you don’t,
you will get way more food dispensed out each time than expected.
The
buttons on this are small but still easy to see and push. You do have to open
the lid to get to the control panel and program it but the lid also keeps it protected
and clean. Just remember to push and hold the button you want to change, then press
the other button to make your selection and changes, then release the button
you are changing. It’s that simple to set it up and get working. You can pick
to use up to 4 meals a day (I use 3) and set the times of those meals, the
amount of food dispensed between 1-39 pieces (I use 18), to set the clock.
It
does have a voice recording if you choose to use it. I have mine set and turned
on and my cats do come running to the food when they hear me calling them when
the food is dispensed. It seems kind of like a gimmick, but it does work.
You
do have to play with it or measure what comes out and set the food pieces to
what you want between 1 and 39 to start with (based on your food size), but
once set, it puts out the correct amount unless you change food sizes. I have a
couple of these now and they are all close on the timing and when they dispense
the food. Normally within a minute or two of each other.
These
have become life savers when we are not home or decide to stay out longer than
planned. With a 7 lbs storage bin. This holds allot of food and lasts for a few weeks before needing to be refilled depending on how much food you dispense and how
many times a day you feed your pets. This has stopped the free-range feeding of
my cats all day and has gotten them on a schedule of when they eat and I think
they actually look like they are starting to lose some weight and look more
healthy now.
